The Throne of Fire

 The Throne of Fire
Rick Riordan
452

Imagine that there are only five days left to save the world, one of those days is someone’s birthday, and when that person spends their birthday in London, they discover that their grandparents have been possessed by the equally ugly Egyptian god of baboons and goddess of vultures. That dilemma is faced by Sadie Kane, one of the two main characters of The Throne of Fire, by Rick Riordan. Sadie and her brother Carter have to find the three forms of Ra and unite them in time to challenge Apophis, the serpent of chaos, who, if released would destroy the world. Sadie shows positive and negative character traits throughout the novel, two of which are bravery and impulsiveness. The Throne of Fire is an exemplary book, and any fan of fantasy, or Rick Riordan should read it and the first book of the series.
