The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

Catching Fire
Suzanne Collins
391

“On the twenty-fifth anniversary, every district was made to hold an election and vote on the tributes that would represent it…” “On the fiftieth anniversary, every district was required to send twice as many tributes…” “And now we honor our third Quarter Quell. On the seventy-fifth anniversary, the male and female tributes will be reaped from their existing pool of victors.” Katniss Everdeen is the one of the only two people to survive the same Hunger Game: a survival of the fittest competition between two tributes from each district, and a place where only one tribute usually survives, meant to remind all twelve districts that the Capitol is in charge. Katniss and Peeta’s refusal to follow the rules are leading to uprisings in many districts, and they soon find out that, because of the third Quarter Quell, one previously victorious male and female from each district will be sent into the arena instead of new tributes. Will Katniss’s bravery and determination allow her to survive the arena twice?
