Grip of the Shadow Plague

“Seth looked up and saw a group of dark fairies streaking towards them. They were unlike any Seth had ever seen. Their wings did not glisten in sunlight. Their raiment did not sparkle. In spite of the clear sky and the hot sun, each of the dozen fairies was clouded in shadow. Faintly, a thin, dark contrail followed each one. Instead of light, these fairies radiated darkness.” In the magical creature preserve Fablehaven, a plague is spreading everywhere that turns creatures of light to creatures of darkness, and when humans are infected, they turn into shades that only Seth Sorenson, the grandson of the preserve’s caretaker, and the main character of Grip of the Shadow Plague, by Brandon Mull, can see. With Kendra on another preserve searching for a magical artifact, Seth has to find a way to reverse the plague and determine if the human-shades are trustworthy. Is Seth’s courage and resourcefulness enough to do the job?
