“Pari, niswa nafeer…” “What he said, it means: Go forth, king…” After Carter and Sadie Kane’s father disappears in a golden coffin inside the British Museum, they’re hardly prepared for Sadie’s cat, Muffin, to turn into the cat goddess Bast. Bast then tells them that they are hosts for the Egyptian immortals Horus and Isis, and also mentions that Carter will have to battle Set for kingship of mortal and immortal Egypt on December 28th. Carter shows the character traits bravery and selflessness through the duration of the book, even when his live is in mortal danger. The elderly Chief Lector, Iskandar, passes away in this book, but if it were a movie, I think Tim Allen should put his beard back on, and play Iskandar while he’s alive.
