"You have to do it. You must escape today. It's your best chance." Ferenc "Feri" Schatz is an escapee from a Jewish labor camp, during an atrocious period of anti-Semitism orchestrated by Adolf Hitler; otherwise known as the Holocaust. After a chance meeting with his brother-in-law Bela, Feri begins to risk his life, filling out fake documents for Jews on the run from Nazis and fascists. Feri demonstrates the character traits of bravery and benevolence throughout the Holocaust, valiantly doing whatever he could to help Jews in need. Unlike millions of other Jews, Feri survived the Holocaust, and eventually founded the Council on Foreign Policy, in Lake Placid, New York.
